At least sixteen people have been reported killed in clashes around the Sobat corridor in the Upper Nile Region. The violence erupted two days ago in the opposition-held Doma area. The SPLM-IO Governor in Sobat, James Banak Riang, confirmed to The UN radio and other local media houses on phone from Mandeng that half the town was burnt down, leaving the civilian population in desperate need of humanitarian assistance.
