Here is why -
The officials were killed by General Moses Lokujo, who is a military commander in the SPLA-IO but not by the Kuku tribe, as reported. Lokujo arrested the assassinated officers 5 April 2020 at Panyume and were detained at the SPLA-IO HQRTS until the night of 24 April 2020, when they were handcuffed and driven in a pickup truck belonging to Lokujo to an unknown location following Kajokeji Road towards Juba. They were then beheaded.
A press release from the SPLA-IO alleged that the generals were abducted by the National Salvation Front (NAS), which was later disputed by the Yei River State elders with full evidence, stating that the three generals were killed by their own leadership in the SPLA-IO and that the Kuku tribe should not be implicated in the killings
