This report is Confirmed true and is of High Priority. Here is why -
Reliable media reports indicate there was fighting in Jekow, a village in Maiwut along the river Nile between the forces of Maj. Gen. Ochan Puot, a former SPLA-IO officer who recently re-joined the government against the SPLA-IO under Dr. Riak Machar. Tension had been building between the Gajaak sub-clans since Gen. Ochan returned to Maiwut from Juba three weeks after his defection to the government and fighting resumed following his return to Maiwut. However, SPLA-IO under Dr. Raik Machar blames the government for carrying out these attacks through Maj. Gen Ochan Puot.
